CARILLION LAUNCHES OFFICE TWO
Carillion has officially launched the second phase of office accommodation at its £80m The Square mixed use development in Castlegate, Sheffield. Dignitaries, property agents and leading business people from across the region attended the event on October 2nd which began with the unveiling of the newly completed 42,000 sq ft, 6 floor Grade A office building within the scheme.
Guests were given the opportunity to look around the impressive building and enjoy the panoramic views of the city from the top floor during a champagne reception. Carillion then entertained guests at Sheffield’s Platillos venue throughout the evening.
Development Director for Carillion, Neil McMillan, said; "The completion of Phase Two has completely transformed the gateway to the city and we therefore felt it important to mark the occasion. We are very proud of our contribution to the regeneration of Castlegate and feel a real sense of achievement when coming into Sheffield along the parkway with the view of The Square as the focal point. The launch event was an opportunity for us to thank everyone who has been involved with the project to date and to show the region's business leaders what we have achieved here. The evening was a resounding success and the feedback was incredibly positive."
Phase One of The Square encompassed a 43,000 sq ft office building, now occupied by South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, a 114 bed Travelodge hotel and the 400 space Q-Park. Plans for the next phase of development at The Square incorporate a further three office buildings, taking the total office space to 250,000 sq ft.
